On 13 August 2021, Prof. Waibel gave an invited speech at the online Summer Course: "Reducing Carbon Footprints: Lessons Learned for Post COVID-19 World”. The course was organized by the Department of Resource and Environmental Economics (ESL), Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM), IPB University Bogor, Indonesia. The course was attended by over 100 international participants from Asia, Africa and Europe. The title of Prof. Waibel''s talk was: "Covid-19, Rural Poverty and Environmental Sustainability in Southeast Asia".
