Plantation versus forest: The Institute of Development and Agricultural Economics takes part at a research project about sustainable rubber production of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMFT)

The interdisciplinary collaborative project SURUMER (Sustainable Rubber Cultivation in the Mekong region) should find on the basis of the local natural ecosystem functions and services a sustainable ecological and economic alternative to the rubber monoculture. Coordination is with the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Hohenheim

The Institute for Development and Agricultural Economics (Prof. Waibel) participates with a five year project about the analysis of traditional and improved farming systems. The Institute cooperates with the well known Chinese Center of Agricultural Policy (Prof. Jikun Huang).
